        LOVE THE HEAD-ON SHOTS!!!!!

Seriously, that, in my opinion, is one of the absolute worst things to happen to T&F broadcasting in the past decade.

For those of us who work in metric, the USATF calculator makes it 8.74m!

I didn't quite catch Saladino's 3rd round follow up jump, but I got the impression that it was pretty close to Phillips' leading jump? Can anyone enlighten as to how far Saladino went?

                      28' 1/2" I think (so about 8.54m). Might've been 28' 1/4".

Thanks Bison. This is one heck of a LJ comp! If only we could have Phillips, Saladino and a fit Bayer all in this form in Berlin! That would come close to Tokyo 91!

The possibly most interesting: Within roughly one year we have seen three
different 8.70+ jumpers (Saladino, Bayer indoors, Dwight). Suddenly, it looks
like the current crop is one of the best of all times---very contrary to my
                          impression just one year ago.

Pre best-marks-for-places 1-2 will obviously be obliterated in this competition.

                              I hate to play the "what-if" game, but at -1.2m/s wind and 61 degrees F . . . . you wonder what could've been possible . . .
