  • Kiprop the next great one?

I've been thinking this for a while now. Today certainly confirmed it. The guy's relaxed stride just eats people alive. Will he be next in the line of great 1500m men? I can see a 3:26 for him, maybe not this year, but soon.

    He's still only 19.

Why is it that the NBC guys (LJ in this case) are so quick to condemn celebrating before the finish? They seem to think every jubilant gesture is bad sportsmanship. They jumped all over Bolt last year, too.

Credit LJ for retracting somewhat after he viewed the replay.

The effort to "cross himself" THREE TIMES in the last 100 meters obviously made for a slower time. Eldrick has a formula for that somewhere... What an odd thing...

Was it only three? Looked like crossed himself continually down the homestretch, lol.

I counted three...but perhaps I lost track at that point! The dude should have put all his energy into moving in a straight line forward...

I was busy trying to figure out whether he was crossing himself, or trying to keep his singlet from falling off his shoulders....seriously. That was ridiculous, who needs a god when you can run like that ?

The only time I've seen a sportsman cross himself more was when Frank Bruno was going into the ring against Mike Tyson

Agree, NBC is too quick to critize winners. Part of his gesturing was throwing kissed to the crowd. I did not get an impression of taunting. Cost him some time but WTH, the guy 19 winning a major race.

He looked well in control, and seems to be ready to try and be the next great Kenyan 1500m man, but I'm still waiting for the next great Berber Arab......now that Ramzi has left the scene!
