LSU 3:31.06 (54.7, 51.8, 51.8, 51.8) to win first heat
quickie hand splits; autos for final two legs available later
Samantha Henry ran the third leg. 51.8 is not bad for her first 4x400 of the year. I only hope she has enough left in the tank to get through the rest of the meet. GoSamantha!

She did look good on that carry. And then again - L-S-U! They do have a way of getting it done.
She had to step up because there is an injury to their frosh relay member, Cassandra Tate, who must've injured herself prior to that meet as she was replaced on the 4x1, which looked as though was out of sync on that 1st exhange, and resulted in their DQ. (didn't make handoff)

Tate hurt her hamstring in the 4x100 heats on day 1. Personally, I would have used Monique Cabral instead of Henry for the 4x400 heats. LSU was more than three seconds faster than the last qualifier and almost four seconds faster than the Texas A&M, the fastest non-qualifier. Cabral failed to make into the 100 final and I doubt that she would have been three seconds slower than Henry. And without that extra lactic acid in her legs, I'm sure Henry would have finished better than 8th in 100 final, not to mention how she'll be affected in the 200 final.
