last round, Maric just pulled ahead of Whiting, 59.82 to 59.80. Whiting up to throw … but can't do it. Maric wins.

Congrats to Maric and his big final throw. Lamb got another place for WSU considering his up and down season!

Tough throwing meet for Kentucky . . . showed-up in good positions and went downhill from there.

favored in both discs, and a second guy in disc and didn't score a point; yikes!

If you watch the CBS broadcast you might note the ASU (2nd place) throw. Why wasn't the measure marked at where the disc landed? The placings would be different than what the "official" results display!

Oh, dear lord. If you start watching discus marking on TV or in slo-mo, you will lose your mind. Probably the least accurate marking/measuring event in our sport.

Glad it isn't just me that thinks this. I know I was way up in the press box, but numerous times I scratched my head as I saw the officials put the marker down seemingly nowhere near where the disc actually landed.
