  • Rules of conduct: No. 15

rules at the top of the page have been modified to codify something that the mods have mentioned informally in the past, but now obviously need to put into weight of law:

    15. Critiquing of other posters' choice of words, spelling or grammar is not tolerated. English is not always everyone's first language and not everybody has the same level of education. If you want to be a pedant, please do it elsewhere.

What am I supposed to say to all of the recent posters who are delusional, idiotic morons then?

"Thank you for your input. I'd like to pursue this further with you during your visiting hours, Tuesdays or Thursday. Please tell that nice Big Nurse to let you come out and play, and not to give you your meds till after we've talked."

Suggest that they retire, or kill themselves.

Could we please also have a rule against excessive quoting? I do not want to
be a control freak (wonder if anyone believes that...), but some recent posters
                          are really out of hand.

The excessive quoters came here from TrackShark, where it was routine for posters to quote the previous 25 statements. It drove a bunch of people nuts over there too but no one seemed to be able to put a stop to it.

This was posted inside the Richards thread this morning:

<<At this point please allow management to make another polite request to cease and desist with the needless quoting of the people ahead of you. Unless there's something particularly crucial you need to highlight, simply hit the Post Reply button, not Quote.

                              Many here will thank you.
