Lavillenie vaults 5.96

Today in Clermont-Ferrand, the European indoor champion Renaud Lavillenie set a WL in the vault with 5.96. Until today, his PB was an indoor 5.81. Outdoors in 2008, his best was just 5.65!

This vault puts him at number 2 on the French all-time list behind Jean Galfione's 6.01.

That gives him a .51 (1'8") improvement since 2007, when he did 5.45 (17'10 1/2). He is only 22, so expect big things from this guy. Makes WC look more and more interesting, especially if we have Lukyanenko, Walker and Hooker at 6m. +
