My husband is a jumps coach and I'm a figure skating coach. We coach athletes from a variety of sports together (groups, privates, fitness, clinics...). I carry $2M general and legal liability for $95 a year, offered as a group policy through the Professional Skaters Association underwritten by American Specialty. But, it only covers me when I am working with a hockey player or ice skater. USTFA has no such coverage available for T&F coaches. I've called around to American Specialty, Esix, K&K, and a few other companies and the best I could find was $1M at $431/yr for each of us.
Anyone know of a better source? Do T&F coaches not insure themselves? I realize many are covered under school/club/university policies, but surely there are some private/elite coaches out there who need good coverage. Any suggestions would be welcome!
