Welsch has a B qualifier; McCain has an A. So they're both on the team. No one 3-10 has even a B qualifier. #11 Marks has an A from last year. So 3-10 need to get the 14.20 qualifier to make the team (not likely).

In the Jr comp, a California prep won

      Alitta Boyd 43-8w

She's going to USC with Reggie Wyatt. Here's hoping they both continue to improve!

There may be opportunity in the sense that some TJers disappear (including boys too), but there's also much less opportunity to even try the event than there could be given the good number of states that don't have TJ at the HS level.

How many don't?! The overwhelming majority do.

So the Cuban, Mabel Gay, drops in on the Tallinn meet, physically and mentally spent from the WC, and pops a pretty good jump - 48' (14.64).

which is, of course, farther than ANY American woman has EVER jumped.

Ashia Hansen the great British triple jumper who had a best of 15.16m was born in the USA but was adopted and moved after 3 months...

So the US has sort of had an American women go over 15m......
