      Re: 2009 USATF: mLJ

Phillps, Pate (cuz he's overdue) and, just for the hell of it, Cole (who's burning for redemption since his self-destruction @ the NCs after posting the top jump in the qualifying round).

          Phillips
          Johnson

No excitement here, as in places but with Phillips previous jump in Eugene there still could be some fireworks.

Phillips appears to be unbeatable...great to see him return to his '03 - '05 form.

                    5 Marquise Goodwin unattached 8.18m 1.3 26-10.00
FOUL 8.00m(2.5) 8.18m(1.3) PASS PASS PASS

So that breaks Dion Bentley's 20 y.o. record by 3/4 of an inch.

Kitchens was the big surprise, Quinley was not "present". Phillips vs Saladino will be one of most interesting fights to see in Berlin.

Poor Kitchens now has to go replicate his form in non-windy conditions to try and get the B or the A.

There is a Russian (Menkov) who has done 8.16 this year and is a month younger. Could be a nice match up.
