Call me crazy, but I really think Carter could win this one.

I don't think he needs to double. While I think he has a possible cause to do so, he needs to get on a major champs team 1st! One foot in front of the other first!

I have mixed feeling about him doubling.

You're not crazy. You're just being you. I wouldn't expect anything less from the President of the X-Man Fan Club. In all seriousness though, I suppose it is possible. No one outside of Tyson is setting the 200 world on fire right now in the US.

Excuse you - Louise is STILL the President emerita, and I am the acting VP for Hype. Even so, Dix has it in da bag!

Dix hasn't run a 200, so he is a question mark. Spearmon defeated "X-Man"
                by 0.29 seconds at Reebok.

"X-Man" said after his 44.70 at Reebok in 2008 that he likes to run two races per day. He will be able to do so on saturday and sunday, so that situation makes a win possible--not probable.

                  My pick:

                  Spearmon
                  Dix
                  Crawford

Crawford is about 0.30 slower than he was at this time in 2008. Martin won at Osaka in 20.30, so he needs to return to that form to make the team.

Its possible that "X-Man" could finish third and Wariner finish fourth (as he did in 2007), BUT both choose the 400 putting the fifth placer in WCh.

I think JW goes at least 4th this year with his concentration on the 200m so far this season. His 20.30 in his last race (3-4 weeks ago) is faster than several in the formchart ahead of him so far this season. Plus being back with Hart will give him an edge. I predict JW will PR in the finals.

                            Reebok 200 May 30:
                            2. Spearmon 19.98
                            3. "X-Man" 20.27
                            4. Wariner 20.30
What has changed to put Wariner ahead of Spearmon and "X-Man?" Wariner's PR is 20 .19 in 2006. I can't find a race where Wariner has ever defeated Spearmon or "X-Man."

                            Adidas May 16:
                            2. "X-Man" 20.71
                            3. Willie 20.73
                            4. White 20.74
                            5. Martin 20.75
                            6. Crawford 20.82
Crawford lost to five other U.S. sprinters here.

USAT&F requires three races in two days. IF endurance is needed, Crawford is weak there because of the 300 at Pre June 7:
                            2. "X-Man" 31.93
                            3. Spearmon 32.14
                            4. Crawford 32.47

Dix must be a question mark because he has only run a couple of 100s and no 200 since the OG. Patton scratched OT after making the 2008 team, but I expect him to run if he fails to make WCh team in 2009--I don't see his defeating Wariner.

                            My prediction:
                            1. Dix
                            2. Spearmon
                            3. "X-Man"
                            4. Wariner
                            5. Willie
                            6. Crawford
                            7. Martin
                            8. Patton

Willie would run at Berlin if "X-Man" and Wariner choose the 400. In 2006 the only other year that Willie concentrated on the 200, he defeated Wariner at USAT&F. IF Dix doesn't win, he probably won't make the final. Rubin Williams would then make the final.

Wallace Spearmon is gonna win the deuce.

He's been running 400s and working harder than ever. He seems more determined than ever. I wish Gay were running it to push (pull ) him.

At any rate...I think we'll see something special from him in the final.

                              19.7-ish or so. 8-)
