Bolt looking absurdly so absurdly easy in the 200 that it boggles the mind:

200M MEN - JAMAICA NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP TRIALS 2009 WON BY USAIN BOLT

Kerron surely would have run the 200 if she didn't make the team for the 100. That's why she signed up at trials for both even though she wasn't planning to run both at the WC.

HS Championships normally has a full stadium.
Thanks. Am a little surprised/disappointed that Bolt et al aren't a bigger draw at home.

It's nice to see Aneisha McLaughlin make a decent comeback. She nearly made the top 3 in the 200, running her first sub-23 since way back in 2002 when she was 16. And her 100 into headwind was pretty solid as well.

Another factor might be the Golden League jackpot, she already has the Berlin win, if she can focus on the 100m and maintain her form, she might be able to take a share at the end of the season.

I still think Kerron can win it all. She's my pick from the beginning of the year and I'm sticking to her!

SAF is in the clear because she has her name down in history as the Olympic gold medalist, nothing can take that away from her and you remember GOLD medalist more than anything else.

Kerron just wants herself a gold, an individual gold and we all know that she wasn't getting it in the 200....
We will see in roughly two months if this will pay off for her. I still think she is not going to win. I don't think she can past VCB either if she is infront from the start. It's hard to run down she too..and that goes for anybody and they're more likely to lose than overtaken VCB from behind. Still I have all three in my top 3 from day one. VCB-KS-SAF, but SAF is looking like she is picking up where she left off last year. She ended up winning the WAF at the end of the season.

"Kerron Stewart, who was third at last year’s Olympics, did not start, because sore ankle, according to her coach Henry Rolle. "

Kerron did the right thing by opting out of the 200, if she's not planning to train to double.

If she only trains for the 100 and then just shows up at the 200, she won't get better than bronze in the 200. And after already having an Olympic bronze in the event, she's not interested in trying for a maybe-bronze in the WC. So why bother with it; give the spot to somebody else who wants it.

Because she could literally just not even train at all for the 200, and ONLY train for the 100 (since she wants the 100 gold so badly, and also doesn't want to overtrain or risk injury or whatever) and then it literally hos no effect whatsoever on her 100m training or racing in Berlin. Cuz the 200 is just something she would be doing for shits and giggles AFTERWARDS. If she gets injured AFTERWARDS it isn't going to have any effect on the 100, that's already OVER WITH.

Sigh... it doesn't sound like she thought this through very carefully. What a shame.
That's why I have a hunch that this was spare of the moment thing.
IMAGINE my disbelief when i sat in the crowd anticipating her vs vcb and frankly she would have beaten vcb.. and then only to look across and see her in the stand too watching the races... whyyyyyyyyyyyy..!!!!

Berlin race will be a two women race ...the Bronze will be up for grabs. SAF got what she wanted...to run the Double in Berlin. Lets wait and see what she has to offer in the 200m.

VCB mention she has a 4 race to run before Berlin and they are a combination of 100m and 200m.

    That is crock!

Seriously.... she is going to take someone's chance of running in the WC just because she is running for the 'shits and giggles'. If there is one thing I have noticed with KS, it is clear she doesn't like losing and running the 200 and placing out of the medals probably doesn't make any sense to her and not to anyone else really.

The field is too competitive to go into the 200 without some amount of training, it takes time to train for running that curve.

And then the comment about getting injured afterwards....A top sprinter like herself can finish her career right then and there with a bad injury and am sure she wants to go to at least one more Olympics. And if you don't want to think about her that much.... think about the 4x100! KS being injured for the 4x100 would be extremely damaging!

People don't seem to understand the training that is required to double and the strain it takes on the body.... running in through the rounds and final is one, getting yourself ready to be dropping sub-22 is another thing. And best believe sub-22 is what will be required for the win.
