judging from the events 1500/5k on the world stage are specified, it would appear that a little reading comprehension is in order. All due respect though! lol
I just responed to the title of the thread.
Then why respond to a post clearly indicating Lagat?

That's cool. So did i and Lagat IS da man. Go Bernie!..and Go Rupp!
You seem to have a fixation with Lagat.
He is one of my favorite athletes, thats for sure. Great guy, loves to run but can't wait to retire so he can drink more beer. Oh and by the way, he is the best American distance runner right now. Not sure this = fixation. :?

And as it stands is the BEST American distance runner to date!
Lets not overrate a very good runner. He has a slim chance of a medal at best. The Kenyans and Ethiopians are not worried about Rupp.

At least he is not a head case like Webb.
overrate? Give me a list of the current Americans who've WON a gold medal in a distance event, (let alone 2) in the name of representing this country........

I won't hold my breathe though.

rupp isn't great UNLESS he gets some WORLD or OLYMPIC medal...

maybe a top 10 lsting some day, with generosity perhaps

i highly doubt he's in that zip code OR will ever be in that zip code...

he's bascally the equivalent of the fastest WHITE sprinter...

if oregon folk want to have a parocial lovest fine, but it's a big world out there...and usa is a small pond...10k pond that is..

I agree. I can see him maybe running New York--one of his coach's favorites--the first fall possible, time-wise, after the London Games.

Then no more than one per year, probably in the fall (after international track season).

Regarding "EPelle's" quote. I believe that Webb could have won two of the 1500, 5K & 10K with a 3rd or so in the other IF he had Rupp's attitude which Webb lacks.
