Anyone know the exact nature and extent of Bookout's injury? He was the most promising prep shotputter in the nation and the wonderboy of Oklahoma athletics a couple of years ago... tall, rangy and remindful of Randy Matson. He then settled into a journeyman's role on a pretty good D1 basketball team. Got injured in October and played through pain until a couple of weeks ago. I have read that rehab from shoulder surgery will take 4-5 months. Sounds like a world class throwing career may have been lost?

As far as I know Kevin will not compete this year in the shot. He will pick-up putting next year. He has said many times that he wants to be an Olympian in the Shot Put. I don't see him giving up shot putting no matter how well Basketball is going. He is the most talented shot putter the US has had in some time.
