    Good return to form from Nazarova. It looked as though she was on her way out along with the rest of the old guard (Zykina, Antyukh etc.)

    Thankfully Stambalova seems to have plateaued in the mid-51 range and this is the second time she has been soundly beaten so hopefully we will see no performances on par with her 2006 level.

      Thanks for the highlight, Powell. I was in Budapest, and missed this. Savinova's 1.57,90 PB is her first outdoor sub-2. She's picked up outdoors right where she ended indoors (1.58,10 PB). With the exception of Torino, however, she hasn't gotten out of the house that often (six of her seven best marks have been achieved in Russia).
