He's at 49 sub 10 secs time. He's going to go beyond 53 this season, then he'll be the top of the list.
Today's would've been 50 sub-10 races if he had done it.

I ask because I do, and my tally has him at 49.
It is mentioned today in both of our local papers that he is going for #51 today in Oslo. So, either they are wrong, or I am. (They mention Maurice Greene's 53, which I know is accurate although Wikipedia had it incorrect for a few years on the pages for both athletes.) If I'm wrong, I'd be interested in finding out which sub-10 I missed.
Can anyone assist?

pela2, I can understand you not counting the run with the faulty wind gauge, as much as I can understand them counting it (lack of proof that it was in fact an illegal run).
Can you expound on the "rolling start" you mentioned? I'm lost with that one.
So my 51 could maybe be a 52 for Greene ....

They have for some reason included Greene's 9.88 from Edmonton WC 2001 with a faulty wind gauge and the 9.94 from 1998 in Berlin which is seen as a "rolling-start". The rolling-start should maybe been included....

Should be another one today. Great weather with 20 degrees or more and nice tailwinds (3.0 in the B-race but legal in all other events so far).
Edit: take that back...apparently raining hard right now (guess it's thunder and following rainshowers).

I checked pela's list and he has Asafa with 49 sub 10 on his main list, and there is a 9.9 manual time on his manual time list. That manual one may be the difference.

Thanks guys. I just wanted to make sure I had not missed a legal sub-10 over the years (he has 2 wind aided by my count, both in Eugene).
On Saturday someone updated Asafa's page on Wikipedia and changed his total to 49. Someone else then updated the page hours later and changed it to 50. I am wondering is that is the source of the error, although a journalist should never rely on Wikipedia for anything.
The same problem was happening in the case of Maurice Greene for years. His total was at 51 on his Wikipedia page for quite a while. Pela's site has him at 51. The list on the IAAF website shows Greene with 53 wind legal runs. One of these days I'll get around to comparing Pela's list with that of the IAAF to see what was left off, but the IAAF list is the official one that counts.
IAAF website has Asafa at 48, with the 9.97 on 27/06/09 not listed.

Yes, and for those less inclined to count (or who have less time, that is):
http://www.geocities.com/sprintingelite/statistics.html
Add the six times he ran faster than listed since 2008-09-02 and that should equal the same tally you have (49).
