One thing for sure, The yanks will be toast in Berlin similar to Beijing.

Multiple gold medals await Jamaican men and womens sprint team in Berlin.

No wonder Tyson can't get Bolt out of his mind

Powell was in Australia this summer and addressed a luncheon, along with Hooker. He came across as a very nice guy, my son had his photo taken with him afterwards, was quiet, but approachable.

He is a car guy and does the wrenches on his own modified cars. Said he would have been a mechanic if not a pro athlete. He also handles the wrench work and upgrades on Usain's cars, (and mentioned he needed to upgrade Usains brakes)

He places orders ahead of time with a speed shop in Melbourne which imports from Japan and picks them up on his annual trip.

Got the feeling that was a large part of the reason for coming.

The tension between Powell and Bolt maybe more media hype than reality.

By all appearances, some of the posters here "cannot get Bolt out of their minds," to the point that it may cause other posters to "get (go) out of their minds," so it would not be unexpected that Bolt's rivals to the throne would often find a place for him in their mental landscapes. In fact, just try not to think about Bolt for the next 10 seconds after reading this. See, you can't not think about him.

    That's only simple human nature.
Yeah, I don't really see what the problem is. You have to focus on him to beat him. Every day he trains, you train harder. Every day he's in a car accident, well, I guess either you have to get in a bigger car accident or lay on your couch, motionless, until the next day. I'm not quite sure how that one works.
I guess you're being sarcastic there, but never under-estimate the motivational value of wanting to beat a specific foe. When you want to cut corners in practice, all you have to do is ask yourself, 'is he cutting corners?', (and one must always assume he's not), then you have your reason to work harder. One of the primary reasons why records get broken is because someone sees what the exact goal is and works to better it. It's easy to say, 'I'll work as hard as I can', but that's far easier to say than do. With a specific person/time to beat, the target is always in focus. 'Bolt's gonna run X, I gotta run X-.01.'
No, I was being serious the first sentence. I used to Facebook stalk my biggest rival to see days when he wouldn't work out or would be doing something like partying because I knew on that day, I wanted it more. I just got carried away when I started thinking of other ways to focus on and/or emulate Bolt.

Can't see why the branding is necessary.
I just really really really hope Bolt didn't ACTUALLY injure himself slightly inthat 19.59 run. If you watch his face when they do a slow-mo zoom in on his face, he grimmaces twice before he hits the finish line. The second time was maybe just a happy-smile but the first one was DEFINITELY a grimmace.

Then again in his 19.30 world record run in Beijing, he made the exact same grimmace during the last 50 meters or so of his race, and I don't think he injured himself in that race, so hopefully it's just something he does any time he runs all out in a 200, towards the end of the race, when he starts to feel a tiny bit of lactic acid or fatigue near the end or something?

That's what you would like us to believe, show the quote where they state, they can't get Bolt out of their mind.

Because someone is mentioned, certainly doesn't mean on the brain, all the time.
    lol

I'd say since Bolt holds a lot of the media interest, thats what the reporters will be asking about. What they going to do??? not answer the questions..
