  • Team USA – Below par!!!

Between tough trials and injuries, Team USA has taken a beating.
    • David Oliver - Injury
    • Lolo Jones – Out / Hamstring Injury
    • Susie Powell – Out / Trials
    • Walter Dix – Out/ Injury @ Trials
    • Jenn Stuczynski – Rumored Injury @ trials
    • Brian Clay – Out/ Hamstring Injury @ trials

Maybe it’s time the trial system changes… I know this is not a new and novel idea, but it seems it should be revisited..

It's not, but certain folks around these parts will say the U.S. will use that as an excuse, in particular, anything sprint related ops:
        on the road

But the US team composition in flat sprints isn't much affected by injuries.

I know, but even in the remote sense of it, folks throw that around. We saw/heard that when Jeter cramped up and when Dix pulled up.

Could you be more specific? Who said what? And how can that be perceived as being the consensus of USA posters here?

First, you forgot a big one Hyleas Fountain - out/injuried @ trials.

But other then Fountain, Stuczynski (if it's true) and Clay. The others are all very well replaced. I think the men's 110H, W100H W disc and M200 are all excellent teams without those mentioned above. And I don't think the US team will be hurt by their absence. We are very lucky to be deep in so many events.
