Ethiopian record for Roba Gary, breaking the mark set by Yakob Jarso in Beijing last year. How long will it be before Ethiopians become as competitive with the Kenyans in the steeple as they are on the flat?

Huge pb for Mutai - a very unlucky athlete whose career has been blighted by the athlete who finished ahead of him.
He was deprived of gold at the 2005 world youth championships by the age cheat Taher until long after the event, and presumably lost racing opportunities as a result. This was his first GP meet!

They've got a great group of very young female SCers. World youth champion Korahubish Itaa has already gone sub-9:30. On the men's side, they still don't seem to take this event very seriously.
