OT Broadcast Question

Last night I was watching the Friday, June 25th ESPN broadcast of the US Oly Trials. At one point they did a 'catch up with the field events' segment where they showed a javelin toss from winner Chris Hill. It looked like the video was taken by someone's camera phone. What's up with that??

I hear they're going to do the entire Pre Classic next year with a Pre Phone :-)

They could get the whole crowd to use Pre Phones filming the meet and stitch the pictures together in real time and make some huge super hd shot.
