Qualification group A over. The #1 favorite, Mannio, was the only one to catch the big Q of 76.00, though only with his second attempt. He's really not as solid as a month ago. Other big names in this group should also make the cut, though Avramenko's position is more than slightly insecure.

We got all three guys into the final (would have been a huge disappointment otherwise), plus Smet who has also trained in Finland... Frydrych trains under Železný, which should be at least as good. I won't be surprised if he grabs gold on Saturday...

Phew, that was close! Frydrych stole the lead with his last throw but Mannio responded brilliantly. Lebésis bettered his old PB four times and got a deserved bronze.
