bluequiet...obviously you get my drift, Bolt just like the Nadal's, Lebrons, Harringtons of the world, a season, not a career is what Bolt has, get it.

Just like you think my analogy of Lebron is absurd.....well that applies to Bolt being considered the GOAT right now, he isn't, his resume too short, just like King Lebron, just like Nadal, just like Harrington.

Bolt is on the path to being the GOAT, but not there yet, he still has some work to do on the track. Now for all those who simply want to talk him to that status, well you know the old saying..........."talk is cheap"

P.S. Nadal's 2008 season, Roger couldn't even touch, yet Nadal not even the GOAT, compared to Roger,..........RESUME

You didn't read my whole post, and I'm not surprised. No one ever listens to me when I get long winded.

Let me try to quickly sum up my point: if Lebron James, this past season, would have had a 40-15-15 or a 50-10-10 individual season, and won the title, I would have claimed him GOAT, right then and there.

If it's freakish enough, and bends the the understanding of the time/space continuoum, then it doesn't matter if it only happened for one season. It happened, and it happened intentionally, and no one else could have stopped it.

      Thus GOAT.

EDIT: Did you watch the 2008 Wimbeldon Final? Ha. Please don't say Roger couldn't "touch" Nadal last year. Not touching someone means they got swept. Roger just missed winning that match. It was awesome to watch, though.

I read your entire post, doesn't change a thing, even if Lebron would have won the title, he ain't no GOAT, not even top 5...but that's beside the point.

BOLT isn't the GOAT, you have ALREADY stated THAT, this is a moot point.

P.S. I said Roger's season, couldn't touch Nadal', not Wimbledon, which by the way, Nadal won.

I'll contend that this is all moot, as of right now. If Bolt beats Gay at worlds and wins the 100m Dash, then we have to resume this current debate, as at that point I will be convinced.

My take on the Geatest Of All Time discussion would be to limit the spectacles of achievments to the greatest athletic event of all time. This of course would be the olympics; the throw down of throw downs where McKenley to Owens to Bolt can be best fairly compared.

Now looking at the achievemnets strictly as they appear to me on paper (neglecting any external factors), the logics would have me begrudgingly admit that the GOAT is Carl Lewis.

If we were looking at number of WRs per athlete within their respective careers it seems to be pointing Green's way (need more stats to confirm)?

One thing is for certain...there are more arguments to say that Bolt isn't than to say that he is, but he certainly has that title in sight.

Hmmmmm, so this thread is about...? Just asking cuz I'm not sure anymore, and I am trying to decipher between the other threads that are already going?

(not being a smart a$$ either)

Actually the post posed the sarcastic situation of Weight and height classes but got hijacked along the way. Most of us seem to have gone with the flow to talk about GOAT preferences. I myself am a fan of Nubians, nice when curried!!

So its the same convo as some of the other threads...

I just don't want to be repeating myself for the sake of posting.

                  Thanks
