  • KBC Nacht Heusden - Pamela Jelimo returning to competition

With Paris GL completed, it's on to KBC Nacht in Heusden-Zolder tomorrow (Saturday) night. The headliner is Pamela Jelimo, who will return to competiton after more than a month off the circuit. According to today's press conference, PJ is healthy and with solid workouts behind her. The pacemaker will be targeting a lap time of 58 seconds. The English-language meet web site is posted on the T&FN home page, but to see today's detailed Jelimo update, check the Dutch-language (NL) version (sorry, no English translation) in the upper left corner.

See link below for the main program's entries.

Unfortunately, the weather tomorrow night will be similar to Paris tonight, expect that H-Z is pretty much at ground level without a lot of stadium, whereas Paris is sunk down with a very big stadium that is partially covered. There could be a lot of wind that will slow any race of a lap or more. It may mean that Tegenkamp does not run 13:1x and thus that He stays with an A and his teammate Jager is out as they would have [A]AB..B and the last B is left home. Of course, Jager could find a race somewhere in the next few days to run 13:1x but it does not seem likely. Too bad, as the experience would be valuable to this very young runner (he would have been a college sophomore this year if he stayed in school).

Hey 26.... I know that you know your stuff, but isn't it a bit early to be writing off the chance of people running standards? I know we have several Canadians who will be going for it Heusden, so I hope your weather forecasting is wrong, for a change...
Is the Meet being streamed anywhere, perhaps on channelsurfing?
Start time for the International Events?

Does anybody know where Jelimo has been (geographically) the last month or so? Was she back in Africa or somewhere else for her "rehab"?

Jelimo has been at home in Kenya. Ran a 52s relay leg at the championships.
Should be a feed according to:

Let me go on record as saying I strongly hope the weather is more like last year.

Better. Definitely not dominant. Solid run. Won from 3rd/4th place after 500m. Hard to tell how much was left in the tank. It wasn't an easy win.
