Im merily stating my confidence in Bolt
Bolt will win the 100 and 200 over Gay and Powell, this is also including both those guys are absolute 100%.
Uncertaintity is things such as injuries.. stumbling.. horrible starts, etc. But barring any of that, a average/below average start for Bolt, and Gay runs the best race of his life, Bolt will sweep him out FOR SURE.

Bolt is in the middle of 200m prep. (as said by himself) and wont be running absolute peaking times until Berlin. I know you guys all love and hope to see world records every time these guys step on the track, but unless he's soo fast that he's too far ahead of his former self, he wont be breaking any records until hes in peak form.
Dont forget he ran a 9.90 with a similar reaction time and no rain/headwind at the same time of the year last year as when he ran the 9.79 on friday... he's doing very well and will not be defeated. And for you people who ramble on about mental issues, etc. Bolt CLEARLY is not affected by that... come on guys.. nuggets and video games on the "big day."

Hmmm... willjr has established that he know better than anyone about distance events because he can beat anyone else who posts here at 5K or more due to his great skill as a racer at those distances and the expertise that produces. And anyone who challenges him is unqualified because he can outrun them.

Now he has ventured into the sprints, and mind reading as well. What are willjr's credentials for these endeavors? Clearly Marlow has no bono fides to pose that question because Marlow is merely a coach. Me, I'm just asking. I know I have no right to challenge until willjr begins to opine about the jumps.

Dang..I didn't realize I missed worlds, or the rest of the month of July. I feel like an abbreviated..Rip Van Winkle.

What were the rest of the results, n all the other events?

You know what's comical about this thread and really much of the Bolt hype, folks act like Bolt is the first athlete that others are in awe of, or make any preparations for

    This ain't virgin terriority.

    Atkins 10.00 (3.0) in Zarragosa.

he must have been injured for a while.

still, 10.00 for what is apparently first race back, even with 3.0w, is good.

Isn't clairvoyance a marvelous gift? While you're at it, can ya give me a quick read on the 5th race at Santa Anita tomorrow. I got a coupla C-notes that could really use some company. T'anx!

P.S. How does one think withOUT doing it mentally? Just wondering.

I don't agree that Gay is psyched out.

He seems confident and he seems to be executing his training and competiion plans for 2009 supremely well.

Hard to argue with 9.77 and 19.58 WLs.

Figuring out how to beat someone like Bolt must seem impossible, at times.

Bolt is the clear favorite in Berlin in the 100 and 200. No doubt.

That said, however, I truly believe that Gay could suprise - and that Gay will make things very interesting.

I almost think that Gay might have a better shot in the 200. Gay is a better turn runner than Bolt. If he can apply some pressure to Bolt coming off the turn, he's got a chance of holding on.
