Agreed...I witnessed the Kenyans run the DMR at Penn several yrs ago and they set the current WR. It was a great race.

I obviously don't want it added, since it already exists. It's superfluous, and often seems to serve as a way to get several countries their requisite entry into the Olympics, regardless of credentials.

Though many of the top athletes use the heat as a little warm up, I think it should remain for the very specific reason you stated. Would hold a lot of honor for some of these athletes to say that they've competed against the likes of the Powell's, Gay's, Bolt's, Greene's, Boldon's, etc of the world. JMO

In any case, the most teamable event of all is easily the javelin. If you think of the original context of war and throwing spears at the enemy, it's all very good to have one great javelin thrower but surely having a teamful makes much more sense?

Also, I think a DMR would be great, as you would enter the top qualifiers and no rounds for this event. Add it on the final day along with the other relays as there are only individual track finals and 2 relays on the final day of these champs meets.

Add Men and Womans 3,000. The differance between 1500 and 5,000 is just too much. Steeple dont count.
