Donovan Bailey? Tore 3 adductors 10 days out of the first round of Atlanta and went on to record a big PB, WR, and Olympic Gold... Not ideal, but miracles do happen.
Ya you're forgetting the biggest reason that ever happened was Dan Pfaff. Injury to winning in 10 days.

Are you serious? What mystery, first off it hasn't been established if this is true, if it is, there could be a number of things that caused it.

How is it a mystery when someone get's injured, it's all part of the sport (injuries)...what's always funny is the guessing game associated with the injuries, by the way none of which we change anything about the situation.

Your absurd conjecture about Asafa and Bolt, is pathetic.

You need to get me in contact with the guys who worked on Bailey to get him back on the track. Please.

He was working with Drummond in 07 and even a back into 2006 excluding his GPP work.

Remember this is the same man that has the "9.5 mentality" I wouldn't put it past him to aggravate his groin preparing for Berlin. He is taking his body to the nether realms of sprinting, nobody knows what can happen to him in particular at these levels.

This post was waaay before I read the T&FNews article and learned that it was ongoing from last year. But even still, the statement is valid if you are considering what aggravated his groin enough to cause this thread in the first place. The way you make it sound, it's like a random mishap.. possible.. but my "absurd" conjectures could be true!

As everybody has heard, he has an ongoing groin pain that has gotten worse.

I have no clue how much it will affect his performance from now on.

                        :?

With three close races up for him, I think he should take it easy until Worlds.

Mentality and physical capabilities are two different things by and far. You can believe you can jump off something and survive and as strong as the belief is, you most definitely wont like the physical results of this.

Based on Gay's comments, his speed work went up a little while ago and he's probably pushing himself harder than he should be, which in a elite sprinter' case you CANNOT be going 100% balls to the wall on every sprint and most sessions must be sub maximal.
