The pressure might imposed by Gay on himself but it might also be from the fact that Bolt has raised the bar and now he has to push himself harder in order to get to the point where he feels he can challenge and beat Usain.

I disagree. He had to start running at some point. He obviously did not run all out. And he undoubtedly picked up a very nice appearance fee. I think he knew what he was doing.
