As for the 4x400, I've always felt the American girls were THE dominant team.
But I like what I see from the Russians this season. We all know about Krivoshapka. But you have (pardon the butchering of these names) Kapachinskaya who has gone under 50.00 this year, and you have Litvanova and Veshkerova who have run low 50.XX. I'm feeling an upset from the Russians this season. So I'm taking them in the relay. Jamaica a distant 3rd.
The Americans run lots of 4x400s and understand the excitement and how to get the most out of themselves and how to pace themselves. The Russians do it once a year. Thinking that the Russians will optimize in this environment better than the Americans seems like a unexamined hunch.

I see you don't work this way at all, but there are people who are for the sport, nor for a particular team. For a good race, for T&F. You ask it as if i shoud be for a flag. Why is that? Because you are?

That's why you see i think the Russians are favorites and I say I admire the US team at the time. And if Russia runs a very good race i'll be satisfyed. The same if the US do, winning or not.

And that's why I'm pretty sure Russian open times are reliable to state they're favorite. The problem is you get blocked when it comes to times don't favour the US. But you would passionately deffend that idea in the opposite situation.
All due respect....I asked you who you're for, because most people do root or pull for somebody  ....how in the world would I know any of what you just stated about your attitude regarding this event?

Whether or not I'm for some country or not, has no bearing on you or anyone else. I'm not being presumptous, that is why I asked you. You can attempt to rationalize all you want as to why you think I'm pulling for the USA.

Yes I am loyal to my country, not ashamed to admit, but even beyond that, I don't believe there is better 4x400 team out there, period, take that to the bank.

Yeah, end of story. I better save my words.

Hopefully we'll see a fantastic race

Not going by paper results is ok. I said that no matter what I think the US will always be a strong contender for gold. That's one thing, but to totally disregard open times?

Don't take this personal, but why don't you better say you want your team to win no matter what without trying to support it with a fallacy? I'm talking about the 4x400 US WL.Now, that sure is disregardable, as it was run in early season, there has not been a high-keyed 4x400 competition in the year and the 3:23.08 result would be good for 6th place in Osaka. That's why predictions for 4x400 are normally based in open times -0.7 to 1.2 sec..

I'm not your puppet, you don't speak for me. Again because you elect not to comprehend my rationale, your problem.

I said I don't have to vouche for any of the USA runners abilities. How many times have I stated that and also let's see come Berlin. You my friend can elect to pick whomever you will, based upon whatever the reasons you came to that conclusion, that is afterall your prerogative. By the way, I exercise my prerogative, without requiring your permission

    Who you picking again?

Hahaha...don't take it personal when you're talking to me, yeah I'll try that

What fallacy? Because I say I don't go off a paper champion because you do :?

I don't care, nor have a problem with how you decide to come to your conclusion on who you THINK will win.

You it appears, are basing your paper champion on open results from this year.....I have already remarked on open times and am not budging from that.

Show me a 4x400 from this season, faster than the U.S. time?

No need to blur the lines, muddy the waters.....you for the U.S., or not? I'm for the U.S. regardless of what you want to present as EVIDENCE to convince me otherwise.
