  • U.S.mens 4x1: What do we do NOW?

So for the Americans, what's our best order NOW, based on Tysons injury and everybody else's recent performances?
I'm starting to think that Tyson could be in even more jeopardy if he tries to run a curve with that groin. What of the idea of Tyson on 2nd??? He'd certainly negate the damage Blake would do, meanwhile not risk injuring himself. With Rodgers on lead-off, it would at least look respectable by the time Bolt catches up to Crawford on 3rd. Then anchor with Patton. Jamaica still wins, but it might keep Gay from pulling up during the race trying to dual with Bolt.

    Thoughts???

I can't imagine Gay running in the relay now. Assuming he is held out of the race:

    Roders - Ivory - Crawford/Spearmon - Patton

      Are you kiddin me????
If Tyson isnt on, the best thing we can do to bandage the wound is:
Rodgers to Spearmon/Patton to Crawford to Edwards/Patton

Ok you got these guys to choose from

        Rodgers
        Gay
        Patton
        Padgett
        Spearmon
        I. Williams
        Edwards
        Crawford
        Trammell

You can pick a great line up outta these guys, well good luck. Tyson is going to man up and run unless the injury is so bad he can't go. Mike will be on it as well as Doc. The last leg is going to be what makes or breaks the relay.

            I would go with this:

            1st leg: Shawn Crawford

            2nd leg: Tyson Gay

            3rd leg: Doc Patton

            Anchor: Wallace Spearmon

Trindon Holliday is no joke btw. He seems to run even better in relays than in regular 100's too btw, so his name should be up there with the likes of Edwards/Williams/Trammel/etc in my opinion. I dunno why people still overlook him so much, given how great of a season he's been having.

                I say:

Mike/Crawford  Crawford/Rae  Tyson  Doc

                and if Tyson's not running:

Mike  Ivory/Rae  Crawford  Doc

Why put Rodgers on the curve and Crawford on the straight? Rodgers is a good straight runner, but not so hot at curves. Crawford is very good at curves. Why not put Crawford on the curve and Rodgers on the straight? Makes more sense no?

You do realize the 1st line-up is an either or and the second answers your ? regarding Shawn

Does matter what order the US is, they will be playing second fiddle to Jamaica in Berlin

Yea, I'm just saying, it shouldn't be an "either/or." Crawford definitely belongs on a curve, not a straight.

You may want to wait for um.....let's just say that's not a positive thing just yet.
