  • New edition, same old story

Once again, international t&f makes the front of my local sports page only when there is scandal. Yesterday, they did a huge profile of that race walker who committed suicide. Today, the front page had a photo teaser to the story of Dwain Chambers' drug suspension. I can guarantee you: that's the first time they've ever had Chambers' picture on the front of their sports page, and that's likely the first time that race walker has EVER been mentioned in their paper at all. I should be used to now, but it keeps making me crazy! Why does professional track only get big/front-page coverage when there is a scandal? I promise you, their total column inches for all of the European season this summer will add up to less than what they gave to these two stories.
