    I was just going thru the IAAF lists and there on top of the 10,000 is a mark from June by Shume Gerbaba...26.47.8....a Kenyan was second more than a minute man.

    Took'em a while to report this.

    First of all, IAAF lists the time as 26:48.7...but the larger point is that I have reason to believe this is incorrect and that Shume's time is a sham. He ran 27:48.7, two seconds ahead of Kennedy Kimutai.

        As a 26:47 guy, I'd assume he was 16 yrs old. As a 27:48 guy, he's probably only 12.
