Tyree. I will be suprised if he doesn't win gold. He ran 2x 350m the other day, the last one in 39.8 (passing 300m in low 33s).

pardon my lack of enthusiasm, I know these are all real good, good, runners, but when I think as far back as 88, of Reynolds/Lewis, then 92 and Watts/Lewis/Everett, then 96/00 Johnson, I just can't help it.

It does seem like the talent pool at 400m may be a bit shallow compared to other olympic years. I think that a lot of guys are young and poised for a big breakthrough. I bet that someone (or two or three) from the young group of Rock, Potter, Steele, Wariner, Williamson will really step it up this summer. My three picks are Potter and Steele and Williamson.
Tyree Washington is the best of the accomplished returnees and all the rest of the Americans for that matter.
Oly Team picks:
1) Washington
2) Steele
3) Williamson
4) Potter (relay duty)

As a former D3 athlete my wish would be that Rock would make the team in the top three, but it just seems so unlikely. I'll definitely be cheering for him.

That team there will never happen like I said earlier Tyree, Brew, Potter, Byrd, Williamson, and may be a couple of other Vet's I know that your going to have at least three vets on that team and Tyree, Brew, and Byrd would be my three. Then mix in the other guys

Don't count Darnell Hall out. I saw him race last weekend and eventhough it was 47.7, he should be a force to be reckoned with come July.
