This is a very nice compilation. I hadn't seen gh's original link earlier, so I've been enjoying the trip down WC memory lane with this.

However, after reading through the history of the sprint events it's quite sobering to see all those retroactive DQs.

Ben Johnson, Montgomery, Chambers, Gatlin, Kenteris, Pettigrew, Young, Calvin Harrison...

Some of those finals with multiple retro-DQs look pretty thin.

The media will also get paper (what's that?!) copies of the book in Berlin; I've never understood why the IAAF hasn't tested the waters with making these available to the general public.

That's the May order form and it shows that the Osaka stat book was still available then. (It probably still is.) I imagine that the Berlin book will be added to that list the next time it's updated.

They are fantastic - but no-one is missing anything from previous editions if you download the Berlin version. Great anecdotes about winners and races. Statistical heaven, as well!
