      Why not.................

      1. Bolt gets a +7.5 tailwind and runs 8.99
      2. Bolt, dancing and playing to the crowd, doesn't hear the gun and while 10 meters behind he has run to down the top 7 runners in the world. Of course he does it and just beats Gay clocking in at 9.75.
      3. Bolt has the lead at the 70 meter mark and he starts to look for Gay out of the corner of his eye. He realizes he is up by 5 meters and he starts to ease up and celebrate. Unfortunately he doesn't realize that Dwain Chambers, who is running in lane 8, is gaining fast and in a suprise Chambers crosses first in a new WR 9.68. He takes his victory lap shouting "I TOLD YOU SO" over and over again.
      4. Bolt gets a -3.5 headwind and still runs a WR 9.65
      5. Bailey get's called for a false start (that part is probably going to happen). The runners are called back. Gay takes a bigger sip of water than he usually takes and the field is called into the blocks. Shortly after set Gay chokes and Bolt flys off trying to get a good start. He thought it was the gun. Too bad because he is out. Now the Gold is there for the taking and on the restart Gay is off and winning early.....and winning halfway there......and winning late.....and the gold is his......and Asafa Powell clips him at the line. Powell gold 9.75 Gay silver 9.76.

Well I think Chambers will make the final but we will discuss that in another thread...

        1. In an uncharacteristic lapse in composure, Tyson Gay refuses to leave the track after a false start. As he resorts to more and more outlandish antics to delay the start of the race, a fist fight breaks out between him and asafa, resulting in a situation eerily similar to the cartoon that was posted here a while back...
        2. Two British runners make the final
        3. Asafa wins
        4. A mystery runner appears competing for Bahrain who suspiciously signals an 'X' with his forearms as he wins in world record time...
        5. Usain Bolt is revealed to be Oshane Bailey and Trindon Holiday working in collaboration

          1. The final won't feature any false starts or reaction times over 0.2s.
          2. Bolt will no longer be Rain God.
          3. None of the US or Jamaican runners will be a major disappointment to their loving fans.
          4. Mainstream British media won't misspell Dwain Chambers' name as "Dwain Chambers (who tested positive for a banned substance in 2003)" even once during the WC.
          5. All US and Jamaican members here will accept the result without any accusations or claims that runner Y won't really be better than runner Z unless runner Y accomplishes A, B and C within the next three weeks.

            Similar to LopenUupunut's 5.:

They will all behave with some amount of humility and
not childishly mock whoever did not win. (This could
apply a little bit more to one country than to the other.)

More problematic is the inability of some people to spell Ohuruogu - Eurosport spelt it wrong this morning. For goodness sake, it's not that bloody difficult

                  3. Powell wins. (or even gets a medal)

                  5. No Americans or people from the Caribbean area make the final.
