I am Firmly not an Asafa fan, the guy has proven time and time again that he's a Brilliant runner and a sad racer/competitor. Despite this I just cn't shake from my head that his PR is a slow looking 9.72 (second fastest time recorded by a human ever excluding wind illegal times) and he is the only guy to beat Usain in a sub 9.9 100m. So I ask myself would it be a biggy if he were to win (no talk about this stupid JAAA entrants list and exclusions ...PLEASE)

He was physically capable of being a multiple Olympic and World Championship gold medalist. Heck, he has run under 10 secs 50+ times and has run some of the fastest times ever recorded. But he never had the mental part of competiton mastered and based on what we have seen this season it looks like that is still an issue. I think he has lost a step this year (injuries not helping) as well and while he could push hard and finish amongst the top 3 in Berlin, he'll likely see that he can't win around the 85m mark and just ease back like he always does. If he is on the team and competes, I would be shocked if he makes it on the medal stand. He is not going to beat Gay AND Bolt, so a gold is out of the question.
