gh gave Ben the wrong chart to post the first time.... what's there now is an updated version (that should also have been mailed to eTN people, but wasn't).

How strange..... this is the next event of the meet, and just a few hours before it goes off it was lying at the bottom of the queue without a single comment. Obviously the sucking-off of huge talent by the big-city majors has emasculated the whole thing somewhat.

Weather could be good for a 26-miler; shudder to think what would have happened with a noon start two days ago.

okay, i'm sure this is a dumb question in this forum but several of my friends and i who are all big track fans and who have watched all of the WCs so far were clueless until seeing the startlist who was in the marathon for the U.S....

          2 questions:

          1) how/when was qualifying for the U.S. team?
          2) where is Ryan Hall as we all assumed (incorrectly) he was in it?

Obviously, the answer to the first question could take care of the second...

            Think qualifying was two fold
            1. top placers at US champs
            2. top times over last year or more.

My hotel is very close to the start and finsh of the marathon. I'm going to watch the start right now. Today's weather is cooler than it has been. Lucky for the marathoners.

At least they have excellent PBs according to the IAAF statistics.

14:49 for that last 5km up until 15km.

Goumri and Asmeron 29-second off the pack.
