gotta admit this jump was something special

    i'd estimate dwight's 8.74 was

    ~ 8.85 basic

    mike's wr at

    ~ 8.92 basic

the difference may only boil down to who had more leeway at the board ( & i'd be surprised if dwight "nailed" the plastiscine into a 1.2 )

    anyone know respective leeways ?

As I patiently wait for the men's lj to begin, my excitement grows as I see the results of today's deca lj. So many pb and sb's!!!! This runway is live!!!!

Along with Merritt versus Wariner in the 400 this is one of the remaining events I am really looking forward to. Lots of back and forth and several super marks would be great.

Nice story on the two Aussie contenders:

                http://www.theage.com.au/news/sport/aus ... 17903.html

The Mitchell Watt story is particularly cool:

The coach led the charge to get him back, convinced that a massive talent was being wasted. At the end of last year he returned.

Since then his emergence has been stunning. In his first five competitions he set five PBs in a row. By the fifth he was jumping almost eight metres.

Phillips isn't playing around. 8.44 for the auto Q on his first jump. Looked very comfortable.

Not sure if Bayer will even make it to the final, he is still injured and didn't jump for three weeks prior to the qualification.

After seeing his first jump, I don't think it's premature to say that Phillips could be in 29' form.
If you're ever walking down the beach and you see a girl dressed in a bikini made out of seashells, and you pick her up and hold her to your ear, you can hear her scream.

Definitely looks like he could be. but I think Salidino will respond accordingly.
