UISA picked at 2, 3, and 5. One or two will disappoint. Hoffa could still win . . . or finish 6th.

All PBs from the last few weeks are missing (though of course that's still worth noting). I don't think he's changed his name in that span, though... (Igor Ukhov is another similarly mysterious entry.)

As preview points out, the Americans really tend to foul a lot, especially Nelson, while Majewski and, I believe, Mikhnevich, are gliders and very steady in the ring. If Hoffa or Cantwell catches one and stays in the ring, either could win. Should be interesting.

Majewski's first name is Tomasz, not Tadeusz...
I think he will go over 22 m for victory.

                Armstrong

IMO Armstrong is ranked too low. I think this will be his medal meet along with a new Canadian record. He PBed in Beijing and will do it again in Berlin.

                gold: Majewski - 21.56m
                silver: Armstrong - .21.30m
                bronze: Cantwell - 21.19m

There seems to be an inconsistency in the metric-imperial
                  conversion for 1 and 6.

It's just that they've updated Majewski's PB in imperial but not in metric. :?

                      Hoffa wins no doubt
                      Cantwell silver
                      Majewski Bronze IMHO

it was Nelson in '05, Hoffa in '07, so now i guess...

                        1. Cantwell 22.16 (if he gets one of his huge throws in)
                        2. Majewski 22.06
                        3. Hoffa 21.47

if not then he'll be second with 21.55

I secretly hope than Nelson's gonna upset one of them though

I guess I might be a bit optimistic about distances but it's about time for one great competition 8-)

The men's shot put won't be completed before NBC goes off the air, but an update will be given during the gymnastics coverage that follows. A full report will be included in the Versus show later in the day.

                            Gymnastics coverage ?!?

                            Is it 2012 already?

                              woo hoo! It's ON.
Found a live vid stream, clear and clean. Weather in Berlin looks fine. Crowd sparse.
