So what's the current status of TD??!! Even if she's cleared to run, is she physically ready to run fast?

Why has Mockenhaput made the formchart and Konovalova has been left off it? :?

Secret formchart rule: at least one athlete probably not going to compete must be included.

Oddly enough, 5000 formchart has Dibaba on top, Defar 2nd. In both cases, I think they are under-rating Abeylegesse, who has shown herself to be an excellent big-meet performer the last two majors, and not afraid to force the pace.

The answer is 'no.' She's looked not-herself all year and this latest interruption will either go down as one of the great mindf*cks in history or will prevent her from finishing in Berlin.
Even without this latest blip, I think the lack of fitness would've left her out of things had someone (likely Abeylegesse) decided to make it hard from the gun.

Better than Reebok but not vintage Dibaba.

She is indeed fearless--no argument here. But her kick...?

I'm hoping whatever setbacks the other two have had will level the field in the last 200-600m.

When Defar and Dibaba hook up and they are in top shape, it's always fun to watch. If Dibaba is injured, I hope she doesn't try to come back too soon.

With Dibaba out I wonder if Masai can challenge for gold. Defar and Melkamu will be the favourites though.

I think the medals will go to:

                            1. Defar
                            2. Melkamu
                            3. Abeylegesse

                            Dibaba is out.
