And three of them are out!

I have to say this Eurosport commentator is SO annoying. He randomly picks out the athlete from Cape Verde athletes as they were panning across, mispronounces Chojecka throughout the race then says there were not major casualties from that heat

It sure was tough! Kibiwot, Chojecka, Zbrozhek and Rowbury (who fell right after the start) all failed to qualify by right.

In something like 4.18  BBC interview she said nothing wrong, but had used all her energy trying to find a way forward

Victim of tactics again - she should have taken it out to avoid the pace change that she clearly struggles with. 5k for her next year, methinks

              Poor Hannah England.

Did USATF appeal? win? Brits we're going to appeal because Thomas lost her shoe. If ANY of them are reinstated I'll be livid. That's the way the 15 goes. You fall, you're out. Tough tits.

I'd suggest Steeple chase. Would also love Dobriskey to give that a go too.

Rodriguez looked AMAZING this morning. I'm telling you, don't sleep.

I only watched BBC for about a minute and Brendan was in full flight about how Thomas should be reinstated. I didn't really understand why because she decided to flick her shoe off :?

her shoes was half off though, that wouldhave been even more uncomfortable, what was she suppost to do?

When I left stadium after morning session, we still hadn't announced the full roster of qualifiers because of pending action in heat II.

But it happens all the time in middle-distance running and I've seen lots of occasions where an athlete has lost their shoe and hasn't been reinstated - for example Dobriskey in 2007.

Worrying about Twell, she said there was nothing wrong with her, but for some reason was totally outclassed.
Does anyone else think her running style didn't look that good, no sort of flow that someone like Dobriskey has. She seemed very stillted with such a short stride.

The right selections were made, but i can't help thinking after seeing all that, that Hannah England would have made a much better job of that.

Twell just can't seem to cope with changes of pace that well.

If she can't cope with pace changes then I don't think steeplechase is the right event for Twell! Maybe they should have picked her at 5000 to put England in the 1500...

Weirdness abounds... for the last few hours I was lamenting the fact that Rowbury had not made it through, then mere minutes ago, the results site show this!! I can only guess that the USATF appealed about a mishap and eventually won their case as Rowbury now has q next to her name. Interesting.
