Re: Where Is The Chatter?
I spent some time w/ Stacy Dragila here last night. She's rolling out some bigger poles (14-7s I think she said) and feels ready to do some good stuff on them. Her manager is very optimistic about her threatening the WR again soon.

Maybe that's cuz you're the only one in town who knows it's happening. I was in Boston yesterday, picked up the Globe, and found not a single word about the meet. Ain't that great! National Championships beginning the next day and the biggest paper in town doesn't know it's there (or, even worse, knows but doesn't care).
For the rest of us, who are not in Beantown, one of the things that could give us good Internet chatter would be the start lists. But there are no start lists, or at least none on the web. Instead, there are lists of athletes and their statuses, some of which are mysterious. Like non-qualified athletes being listed as "Pending" or "Open." If they're not qualified, shouldn't they be "non-pending" or "closed"?

Long piece in Globe today; sorta positive.

Re: Where Is The Chatter?
Nobody asked Masback about the on-going distance running crisis in America. US distance runners had one of their worst showings ever at the World Championships in Paris last year.
How bad do things have to get before something is done.
