Who are these people? Lots of unknown characters. Does USATF carefully check qualifying marks? I remember some hack wearing a wife-beater ran the 1500 at the '98 outdoor champs in New Orleans. Good comedy, but I would hope they'd have cleaned up their act on phonies. Maybe everyone here's legit. But I wonder?

You could do your own little verification by checking entrants with their USATF rankings at http://www.usatf.org/statistics/

They list date and location of the performance, including where the athlete finished in the results. If you still suspected something amiss, you could search out the links to those specific results.
