It was totally a lack of technique and solid relay practice - this is USATF's fault, pure and simple.
I thought USATF made it mandatory to work on the exchanges after Beijing and there seemed to be improvements in that regard, with the most recent example being Cottbus.
Get your frikkin priorities straight. Muna looks hurt you morons. Looks like she pulled a hamy. What are you whinning about? The technique looked fine to me unless someone stepped on her foot, which wasn't clear in the replay.
What was clear is Lee was injured because she was twisting around trying to grab the baton. Clean exchange = no injury.

Hope Muna is ok.... Twisting and turning to get the baton wouldnt have helped her situation.
She was already strapped....
Have to say the US girls were great rushing over to support their injured team-mate and making sure she got attention quickly.
I really hope she's ok too.
As a Jamaican, I'm really saddened to see her go out like this. Such a great American team and now fans won't get to see them show what they can do, same for the men's team, just very sad.
The US needs to focus, if Anderson wasnt going to run int he final why run her in prelims???
The idea of substituting people when the objective to to have some type of continuity is DUMB. Professional level is the ONLY place this occurs, amazing a volunteer pee-wee coach is more in tune with relay running than our paid professional coaches.

Exactly. Muna closed her hand a couple of times trying to get the stick but couldn't find it. By the time she got it, her body was in such an awkward position that when she tried accelerating her hammy gave......
USATF need to do something drastic now. Maybe demanding those who want on the team committ to months of training prior to big meets.
