Please lets not start anything here. Jamaica won and let us just celebrate the victory.

Lets be positive and keep all negatively away.

    Thanks.
    Don't thank me because I don't agree.

I didnt "start" anything, I merely asked Taliban what he thought.

I've heard Jamaican posters comment on her not congratulating other JA runners before other country's runners, etc.

And she seemed really "bothered" after the 100m final.

Why else wouldn't she want to run with them and get a medal?

There's plenty of blame to go around, both systemic and athletic. But the simple fact of the matter is Anderson whiffed twice on the connection with Lee, which brought their bodies disastrously close to one another. If Anderson hits her hand either time Lee is on her way and we aren't having this discussion. Of course, the question is what could the powers that be have done to better prepare Anderson, and the team in general, to avoid such a situation.

Just a (tragic) comedy of errors.

She did congratulate and hug Fraser after the 100m final.

        • But you know as well as I do that VCB hasnt been happy about something.

She's been distant and aloof with her teammates it seems since trials last year.

          No?

Maybe its just an injury but I NEVER hear her commend SAF or Kerron or anyone of the JA for their accomplishments in Beijing, Berlin or between..

She does however say nice things about Allyson.

          Just my take.

            • VCB is pissed that she needed medical attention, but wen to the mandatory camp(For which she said she was email and told it is mandatory)and was practicing on anchor, then 1 hour before the final she was ask to run third because SAF{who miss the camp} could not run any curve on the relay and KS say she running a straight also.Hence she decided not to take part in Jamaica's best interest.

Thats what i getting from it,Its all been link back to MVP not going to the camp.

VCB was on KLAS and explained that 1 1/2 hour before the relay final she ws told that she either had to run the 1st or 3rd leg and she indicated that she was not prepared for either leg. She stated that her toe injury which she sustained in March affects her curve running, even in the 200m final.

In light of that she decided that it was in the best interest of Jamaaica, that the team ran without her. She indicated that she was scheduled to receive treatment on her toe, but the schedule clashed with the training camp and she decided to attend the camp and put off treating the injury since attending the camp was mandatory.

Why would Kerron want to comment and her get herself involved in this controversy

My question is why is there a controversy in the frst place ...... if VCB is injured then there is no controversy if she refused to run as per rumors then there is one

Yes, but for a number of reasons, you still can't blame Alex. First the agreement between runners is you come in hard and I go out hard. That's what the number of steps is based on. So you can't decide to run slower at the meet itself. It was Muna's job to go out hard and to provide a stationary target. She did neither.

Tex Speed indicated in an earlier post that there is no such thing as a stationary target. While, literally, he may be right, but if you watch the replay of the Jamaican gold medal team's passes, you will see the closes thing to stationary targets. That is what Muna was supposed to provide Alex. And everybody who has run a 4X1 knows this. Without a stationary target, the incoming runner has to find that hand.

Bottom line is though Muna didn't get out - and when she tried to turn it up - she got hurt. Again,

Don't blame Alex - and don't blame Muna either - because what happened happens all the time - the only freak thing was she got hurt because she shouldn't have been running. Period.

Oh, well, that is totally convincing then. Thanks!
                      Oh, don't mention it!

Seriously, anyone that thinks it was coming no matter what needs to look at it again. She pulled it when she came down hard on that leg way out of anything resembling a normal stride.

                      Comment

                      • That means she was already pulling. That's probably why she had the abnormal stride. Just like Tyson Gay's abnormal stride last year at US trials. The abnormal stride happens when you pull. Just my opinion.

                        • You don't pull a ham from coming down wrong on your leg. You pull it from digging and trying to bring your back leg forward faster than it wants to go.

So I wasnt the only one who noticed that.

Glad you poste that, for a minute I thought I was losing my mind after the 100 meter finals. She and Lauryn seemed quite perplexed..........or maybe perturbed is a better word.

This really confirms it, as we rarely agree.
