Looking at the analysis above, you can see how Gladisch-Moller's fantastic first leg sett he GDR up. Their baton changing was also great, they pushed the exchanges to the max (Aueswald to Gohr right on the edge of the zone..) but their experience through practice meant they could exchange at full throttle. To think that Sabine Gunther ran a faster 100m split than Fraser, Felix & Stewart! Aueswald was also a great bend runner, if you look at the Seoul splits Flo Jo wasn't much faster than her.

I didn't agree with last year line up either... We all saw what happened on 2nd to 3rd there.
And last year there could be a viable argument of putting her on anchor:
1) she had that amazing top end that she seems lacking this year
2) the only person who could be placed on anchor instead of her had doubled and she didn't so she was clearly fresher and therefore would probably be faster.
3) Her season best was 10.87 and the SB of the persons that beat her were 10.87, 10.85 and 10.80 (at the time they had been practicing relays) not that large a margin (especially after number 2).
4) She was in the best shape of her life as could be vindicated by her 21.74 PB in the 200 and her teetering ever so closely to her 100m PB.
This year (due to injuries of course) her SB is 10.94 and 22.29. KS is almost a whole 0.20 seconds faster than her and this is due MAINLY to superior top end. VCB didn't have that top end overdrive that she seemed to possess before. Kerron was not doubling and she was.

I recall the likes of Carl lewis, Bailey, and others anchoring (the glory position). And Bolt runs the curve not the 2. Course he can run anywhere he chooses such is his dominance right now.

I would be mad to if I was VCB, but she is the best curve runner on the team (yes her toe was hurting but it would still hurt running period). I may have even pulled out too if I was upset enough too since she followed all the rules. There is plenty of blame to go around since nobody seemed to be thinking about what's best for the relay Team.
I think JAM was lucky this didn't cost them the gold because they have an embarrasement of riches right now.
This should have been settled right after the JAM championships...
