  • Quarrie says, Campbell-Brown ‘attacked us’ at meeting

Former World 100-metre champion Veronica Campbell-Brown, according to Jamaica’s technical director Donald Quarrie to the 12th IAAF World Championships, attacked the team management at their Saturday morning meeting.

I always thought VCB was out of line and most thought that she was in the right. Do you guys still feel the same way about the situation now that all the details are out?

Don Quarrie is full of it. He is trying to save face at this point.

Lucky for JAM they survived this because of their deep talent pool, but they definitely sacrificied a shot of approaching the WR with VCB not being part of the relay on any leg.

I feel sorry for Quarrie because he's in a no-win situation. The man has no reason to lie.

I hope VCB will come around and have a change of heart because this reflects poorly on her if this is true, which I believe it is.

Beyond Quarrie and VCB, who cares? All the other girls had to do was not drop the baton!

Actually Quarrie and the JAAA have every reason to lie. Their policy on you had to show up for camp or else, VCB showed up, but Quarrie doesn't address why VCB was penalized for following the JAAA's mandate and those who didn't weren't. Furthermore, it appears that VCB's injury was discounted, while KS and SAF injuries took priority, Then the word "ATTACK' might actually be appropriate.
ATTACK, seemed like a pretty strong word to describe VCB's actions. Wait til the JAAA gets back to Jamaica and the "real fun" begins.

Even with VCB, a good American run might have buried the Jamaicans here. There is a huge gap between 42.06 and the WR; in fact there is a huge one between 42.06 and what the Americans ran at the relay meet.

                And VCB does????

VCB is the villian now? I've only known VCB to act with the utmost of class, all of a sudden she is a 'diva'.

I'm still trying to figure out why other people injuries took more precedent over hers. AND she followed ALL the rules.

Didn't Quarrie predict a sub 37 for the Jamaican men and some folks said he couldn't be wrong on that.

She had good reason to be peeved and is the last one to blame for this situation. She has always come across as forthright and honest, as opposed to people who characterize her as an 'attacker.'

A couple of years ago VCB was the only Jamaican athlete winning anything. She's been her country's anchor for years now and she's still the best 200m runner JAA has.

She's been loyal to country responding to JAA's demands while risking injury to do so.

And this is the thanks she receives?

Her injury isnt considered while others' is?

Like I said earlier, this is the same way Merlene started to get treated.

VCB boycotted that relay for a deeper reason than no practice on the 3rd leg.

She probably feels JAA, her teammates and some fans have turned on her since SAF and Kerron came on the scene. Seems like she feels unappreciated.

Who knows...maybe thats why she now lives in the US?

At any rate she knows she's welcome over here even if the love for her in Jamaican is shrinking.
The fool has said...there is no God. Psa 14

I think not practicing that leg is a perfectly valid reason to say no. Who wants to be the goat for a bobble?
