But will Thompson pull one over on Asafa. This guy is looking real good along the come back trail (9.88 from him).

      I doubt it.
Powell ate his lunch anchoring the 4x1.
He's really come on strong the last 2 weeks, so I doubt Thompson can touch him right now. To me, Rich looked better in Beijing than Berlin.

I won't say Powell ate his lunch, Powell did win the leg, but he didnt just leave the guy standing still.

This was Thompson's first year on the pro circuit and it has been good for him. But compared to his senior year at LSU in 2008 by which he ran sub-10 five times, he's only run twice this year (both in Berlin). He is getting back to form, he may get Powell but won't touch Bolt.

Wonder how much more speed we could get out of him if we threw on 5lbs of pecs on him?

I highly doubt Safa will run slower than 9.84 if he is even remotely interested in running.

Obviously you missed that part. :?

I don't see Thompson beating Asafa either. But Asafa asint just going to have Thompson look like chop suey either.

Interesting or by adding 10 pounds of muscles. I didn't know that Thompson was in a car accident back in December. Did any one else know that? http://www.jamaicaobserver.com/sports/h ... CIDENT.asp

His efforts of finishing 4th in 9.93 and setting a new 4x100 NR of 37.62 are both noteworthy.

Most people in the Caribbean knew of the car accident but I am not sure how far beyind the region the news got.

Actually a pretty solid field. Would have liked to see Gay and Bailey. Throw in Yohan Blake and you got one heck of a race.

Usain looked exhausted in that 4x100m and I would be stunned if he approached 9.58. You guys are right about Asafa. If his injury is OK and he wants to run this one all out he should go under his time in Berlin. I think Thompson runs under 9.90 for third.

The race between Asafa and Thompson may be closer than some think. With the running start Asafa was able to put distance between himself and Thompson but it may not be the same from the blocks; remember the groin injury. I'm not sure that I expect him to blast out of the blocks for this next event; he was unable to do so in the Berlin final.

The startlists now show several other names such as Crawford, Mullings, Spearman, Darrel Brown, Devonish. It looks like there are going to be multiple heats of the 100 now.....or something goofy is going on with their start lists. I consider the majority of the names listed above as 200 specialists now.
