Who doesn't wanna represent the for the USA in the mens 400m? Bingham obviously wants a gold medal on the 4x400r and understands who owns that event...LOL

Just as the Tokyo 1991 team SURE wouldn't? What price another Jerome Young/Harrison twins/Pettigrew either?

US still owns this event, inspite of that.

Just the fact that you have to travel back over 18 years ago speaks volumes, no?

Of course the US dominates the event. The point I was making is that nothing is SURE in this sport - ask Isi. Also he gets to run the individual without the same selection difficulties (and looks to have medal potential in the future - presumably Michael Johnson thinks so).

Of course nothing is sure, all due respect, no one said the U.S. is undefeated, my post was done in levity seeing that USA was nxt to his name.

Medal potential is one thing, wiining(gold/1st place) is another. I would presume his intent is to win it all, not just be medal candidate.

MJ would approve, cuz he ain't worried about Bingham challenging his world record either.

Of course being a GB 400m runner will mean that he is injured for 2 seasons out of every 3 ...

U can count on 3 things in life.

Death, taxes, and the US 4x4!!!!!!!!!

We may have to put Bolt in there soon. You know he can walk on water.

The US 4x4 might be Tyson Gay's best shot at a gold medal from now on

Naw, the 4x100 still got a chance and Tyson gonna get a whole new training regimen for 2011, he''ll get his stride pattern down to 41 strides 8-)

Its atleast 10 guys better than Tyson over the 400 distance. HE may have to get used to silver. Unless, God-forbid, something happens to Bolt.

                              http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/ ... Gateshead/

This article on the home page has Merritt running the 400m in Gateshead Monday after running the 400m in Zurich on Friday. Zurich is stacked, but Gateshead only slightly less so (Taylor & Clement).

Pretty much an all out effort to beat Wariner & Quow on Friday; any vulnerability on Monday?
