  • Barringer not in NCAA XC picks?

October issue.....hellOOoo! Unless I missed something, Jenny Barringer is slated to run for the CU Buffs this fall. Maybe she should be in your "Top 10 Individuals" list? Or at least in "Other Challengers"?

hopefully that means the NCAA with mostly americans, really has some great cross country talent next year that barringeris not even considered as one of the individuals to look for, add the USA to the other 2 countries (kenya and ethiopia) that should be very unhappy world xc will only be every other year now.

Would that were the case. Pretty sure it was a mistake. They can hand her the trophy now.

I vote that she DOES skip this XC season. Relax - live outside of running for a while. Be a college student!

Well, it's common knowledge that Barringer is running XC for the Buffs. So how did T&FN miss that one? I don't think it was up in the air, even before the WCs. It seems like her mind was made up all along. If you are going to project winners, you'd really want to nail down the top contender.

When that piece was written at the end of July, the writer was assured by people in the Colorado athletic department that she wasn't returning. In the rush to get to Berlin, we obviously didn't due enough due diligence in running that 100% to ground, because we had certainly heard earlier that she was coming back.

She broke Kara's course record in her first race, her last as a collegian on the Colorado course, I think (approx. 19:40).

Maybe she's running in the men's race... you know, just to get a little competition.

For her, cross country may BE relaxing!

What I certainly don't have time to run down is your "Location" references. Lord Stanley?

Maybe I should start a thread. In fact, I will. But will it stay in Current Events or get moved to Things Not Track and Field?

Buff's website just said "old record, Goucher etc etc"....you sure it wasn't Adam's record she broke? :-)
