  • JAMAICA- 4X200 Record??

    Why not??
With 19.1 to his credit, Bolt's sure to turn in a low 18, maybe even a 17.9 split.
MJ hit 18.5 at the 1990 Tx Relays. The "King", I believe, did either 19.1 or 18.9 at Mt.Sac in '94. I'm sure Powell would do 19 mid-low. Add Mullings and either Blake or Frater... I'd love to see them go against Gay, Crawford, Spearmon, and a healthy Dix or Carter.

    Thoughts???

I was just about to make an input until you mentioned the X name. 8-) But, I'm act as if you said Patton or Clarke. It would certainly be an interesting race I would pay top dollars to see that and the results would surely be interesting, especially if Asafa could be convinced to run.

It would be a great race. The USA would win - only to get DQed!

I have ALWAYS wanted to see a big shoot-out in the other relays, specifically the 4x2, 4x8, SMR and DMR.

World Relay Championships in the 'off' years, 2010, 2014, etc.

        IAAF, get on that, stat!!!!!!

Patton over a healthy Dix in the 200???
            I doubt it.

That would be fun because Jam would be down by 50m by the anchor and Bolt would have to split 18.0 to win, so he would!

Unfortunately, there's nobody to pay for such a race.

Dont spoil our fun imagining this race!

                    ...And why not??
Powell runs at Penn each year, and so do the rest of them. Only person missing is Bolt.

Zackly. I bet the IAAF could sell a WC for relays as a replacement for the apparently defunct WAF. Have some other events on the bill, but hype it as a World Championships, which, oh yeah, it would be. If they can have all the other weird staff on their calendar (have you ever looked at it ??!! ) they can have the WCR!!!

If you understood how the actually worked at the international level you might not make these ongoing illogical statements. will..... not.... happen...

"only" Bolt is like saying only Kobe Bryant is missing from the Lakers.

The key is in the feet; the international relays at Penn are a Nike operation. Not only would Bolt not have interest in being there, one suspects Nike would actively lobby for his not being there.

How many times have you been told something 'just didn't work that way' and then it happened? You don't think that if the iAAF saw a way to turn a buck (and there's ALWAYS a way to turn a buck; you just have to find the right huckster to sell it), they couldn't/wouldn't MAKE it happen. Of course you would not be able to get EVERY stud from every rated nation to show, but you could get enough to make it worth the while. The glass is NOT three-quarters empty, it is SOOO a quarter FULL !!

(and stop dashing all my hopes and dreams with your miserable facts and logic!!!!   )

Show the shoe companies how this is in THEIR best interests. It's all in the art of the sale!

Bolt's agent should demand a NONappearance fee from Nike.
