No way Merritt is better than Crawford in the 200.
And certainly not for the main line up against Jamaica.
He'd be on another team(maybe) with XMan, dude from FSU, and Rodney Martin.

How often does either (any) country have 4 guys go 20.0 or better the sameday.

And if someone is really interested in taking a WR down, indoor the record stands at 1:22.11 by GB (Christie Linford, Braithwaite Darren, Mafe Ade, Regis John).

as for rest of team, even if safa risked a 19.9, you have :

    19.1
    19.9 ( safa )
    19.9 ( mullins )
    20.1 = 79s

against that you have americans with

    19.5 - tyson
    3 of 19.7/19.8 with zebra/dix & wally = 78.6 - 78.9s

it's closer than i 1st thought, but the 3 americans can repeat 19.7/19.8, mullings has only done 19.9 once
Meaning that for either team the world record of 1:18.68 (giving the benefit of rolling starts) is for the taking.

AND THATS WHAT IVE BEEN SAYING ABOUT AN EVENT LIKE THAT BEING A HUUUUUUUGE DRAW. The Americans have a shot at beating Jamaicas best in this race. People wanna see that, and would pay good money to do it. Theres so much at risk with batons in a quick relay like the 4x1. But theres actually time to make up for error in the 4x2. Its longer, so the anticipation of lead changes builds with every leg. TRUST ME. THIS WOULD BE SPECTACULAR!!!! ESPECIALLY AT PENN!!!

WHO CAME FOURTH at the world championships.. im sure if they make it lucrative next year asfa might runa onme off 200 ii/-u also have nester carter , marvin anderson and the 18yr old sensation "batman"
    THANK YOU!!!
He's gotta be kidding if he thinks Powell "wont" run a 4x2 if the price is right. Hell, he runs 400's to open. And not only that, ANY country with the personnel Jam has now should go for and try to take down every relay record in the books while they have a chance. EGOOOOO is why track isnt where it needs to be in America. MJ wouldnt do it either. Ran all those 4X4's at Penn. They could really do some things with the emergence of Bolt- if they wanted to.
So much talent out there....So many chances to make money.
    What a waste.

    Really??
    Well toss 'em in.
I just figured since Blake had such great top end, he'd do well enough over 200 to be with those guys. I still do. I'd really like to see him do some 200's. And I think the crowd would be curious to see what he could produce. After all, they'd be doing it for kicks and attention anyway. Those other guys could make up another team along with Marvin Anderson. Boy, what a meet that'd be, huh?
If I were in a position, I'd so lobby for that to happen. 4X2's are rare. We dont get to see 'em often. And we surely dont get to see Bolt in the states often. The Jamaican constituency is HUUUUUUUUGE anyway at Penn. Imagine Bolt being there? Alas, thats why track sucks in the states. They dont know how to market it. Bolt is a household name now. They need to take advantage of it and get him here to our GrandDaddy meet- whatever the cost.

    Mouthwatering is right!
I had my first Penn experience this year, and it was the BEST time Id ever had.
I cant tell you the adreneline I felt when the US men/women beat Jamaica in both relays. And that crowd  . It was an absolute rush. The way a track meet should be.
That said, can you imagine a USA vs. Jamaica Penn Relays????
    4X100
    4X200
    Sprint Medley
    4X400

And I'd toy with that 4X2 order a little:
Lauryn to Hooker to MuMu to Allyson vs.
Sherone to Fraser to Kerron to VC ...

    Then...
    4x1...
Frater to Blake to Bolt to Powell vs.
Dix to Rodgers to Gay to Spearmon
    4X2...
Mullings to Powell to Blake to Bolt vs.
Dix to Crawford to Spearmon to Gay
    Please God. Let it happen.
